Jabłońska paints the body from the inside of a feeling. The head here is swollen, reddened, pushed past comfort, the way a private state looks when it finally reaches the surface. She is one of the strongest voices to come out of the Krakow circle around Potencja.
The painter
Karolina Jabłońska (born 1991) is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and a co-founder of the Potencja group. She paints the body from the inside of a feeling, often her own, swollen and pushed past comfort. She has shown at the Museum of Modern Art and Raster gallery in Warsaw, among others.
