MOCAK gave the collection its own exhibition, named after Olga Tokarczuk’s novel of day and night. Curated by Martyna Sobczyk, with an introduction by the museum’s director Adam Budak, it brought together 33 artists from the collection. It was a rare thing: one of the first times a private collection of this kind was shown in a Polish institution of that standing.

The curatorial tours broke attendance records, drawing well over five hundred people each time. For a collection built to be looked at rather than stored, that was the whole point, proven in a room.

The exhibition has its own book, Dom dzienny, dom nocny, now sold out.
